Like a bird building its nest, Sparrows delicately uses her sharp beak and saliva to manipulate sweet melodies, beats and iphone-recordings into a uniquely familiar nest. Weaving elements of pop, lo-fi and electronic music, her confessional lyrics and fragile vocals invite the listener on a journey that flits between love and loss. Later this year, Sparrows is releasing her debut EP, “Heartbreak In High-heels”. A conceptual sonic account of heartbreak and redemption with a high-energy tour to be announced later this year. “Lockdowns forced me to get real with myself and my art - I’ve learned so much in the making of this new music and it certainly feels like a new chapter for my sound and writing which I’m really eager to share”, says Sparrows.. Her self-produced debut single ‘Over & Out’ received spins on KCRW, BBC Radio, added to triple j full rotation as well as reaching #6 on The Australian Viral Charts (Spotify) and #23 on the Australia Top 100 Shazam Charts. With musical influences including Marilyn Monroe, James Blake, Tove Lo and Sevdaliza her songs have been featured in Netflix shows, film trailers and ad campaigns. She has supported Antony & Cleopatra, Northeast Party House and Kira Puru on national tours.
