Officially, Special School have been making music together since 2004. During most of that time, the band has been on hiatus, bickering or just not talking to each other. To understand Special School, it’s worth going into the band’s history. The band has been through many changes, metamorphosed many times until arriving in their current condition. Not a particularly healthy condition, nor a very talented one, either. Nevertheless, the trajectory transporting these four people from those early days of relative obscurity to the present time of total, comprehensive obscurity is worth examining if, for nothing else, than a few laughs. Initially, Tav, Tim, John and Mick met at high school. Each with a social disease, a mental disorder or an obesity condition that rendered them unfit to be seen in public. As societiy’s rejects tend to do, they wound up in the same institutions time and again, forging strong friendships with each other, not so much from a mutual feeling of camaraderie,
