A combination of Rock, Grunge and Alternative. Lets start with the cliché. As an Ipswich band we began in late 2004 jamming in a shed. We became serious at the end of 2005 and since then we've played in school concerts, pubs and bars. Our musical influences range from tough grunge power chords to a rock crunch to an alternative experimental scene where we just make weirdest shit in the world. Our songs are self-recorded. We hope you enjoy and pass us a rating.

Spinifex was first formed in late 2005 when we decided to have a bit of a play around with an acoustic guitar and some old classics. These occasional 'sessions' then started to become a routine, experimenting with some more modern songs and repetative drum loops on Garage Band. In mid-2006, we began to record a selection of cover songs using a tiny, computer microphone and later that year, the album Fire and Flames was released. Although it only consisted of covers, it still sparked a mild interest amoung peers, some even inviting us to perform at parties. This year, we have become more musically innovative as well as more creative, with a number of originals (with the help of lyricists Amos Gill and Ben Reichstein). Hopefully, the recording of the new album "Freshly Cut Grass" will be completed by the start of 2008.
