splitxlip are an alternative rock band fronted by Brisbane-born Bailey Blair, alongside Mikey Lloyd on guitar and Joe Clements on drums, playing a sound the band calls Grit Pop; crunchy, guitar driven rock colliding with pop hooks, referencing Blur, Arctic Monkeys and Garbage . Blair produces the songs, having cut her teeth as a songwriter for stadium-selling pop and dance artists before teaching herself production. Lyrically, splitxlip's songs channel anxiety, procrastination and self-doubt with honesty and humour, turning private chaos into something to laugh at and scream back at shows.
