A band? A project? A man? An alter-ego? Who knows? The answer to all these questions is in fact Daniel Gell, the thing behind the spring. Started in the small Gippsland town of Rosedale in the late 2010s, Spring Thing had its big breakthrough in 2022 when Daniel (alongside a band of high school friends Bella, Finn, Jack, and Sam) performed a selection of songs opening up for Thelma Plum as a part of the Push's All Ages Tour in Sale. The music of Spring Thing has many influences, Weezer, Guided by Voices, and anything else noisy and melodic.
