Berlin-based up and coming artist SQRD offers up his inaugural DIY release. The artist does the songwriting, singing and production by himself. The 24 year old has during the recent five years been studying mathematics but now decided to to music full-time. Following a couple of tracks released on his own, SQRD is a fresh new producer ready to make his mark on the scene. Referring to his home country Sweden, he says for him the distance creates an interesting mix of different sounds based on varying perception of impressions, emotions and encounters in everyday life. Influenced by the likes of Caribou and with a background in jazz and classical music, he delivers four dreamy electronica cuts. The resulting release is equal part touching, energetic, technological and sensitive. ‘Keep Saying’ takes us on a journey through an atmospheric emotional crescendo. Splashing drums meet haunting vocals alongside hypnotic melodies that lead us into the most effervescent of electronic tales.
