StayLucky draws influence from vintage poetry on his debut track “How I loved you then”. In 2018, the fever took hold of StayLucky and once his pen was to paper there was no stopping it. Now, It is with a strong sense of self StayLucky offers up this divine Alt Americana track full of relaxed vulnerability & Neil young esque hooks. Every debut track feels like a lifetime in the making, and “How I loved you then” expresses Stay Lucky’s years of honing his craft with delicate assuredness. It’s not a song that ambles along, it flows, lush and rich like the river it was composed by and the relationships it represents. Human connections, breakdowns, rebirths and the ever-present commodity of love & cigarettes in life. The story of reaching within oneself is cleverly hidden within the words as Stay Lucky croons. A narrative within a narrative that preaches of the exciting things to come. “How I loved you then” was recorded & produced by Alex Markwell at Aviary Studios, Melbourne in August 2022 and mastered by Rick Snowden of Third Eye Stimuli Records. “How I loved you then” is set for release on March 1st 2023
