Steelar formed in early 2008 with bassist Rhys Sango and guitarist Chris Anderson, offcuts of former glam outfit Dirty Holly. After running through many different lineups and shifts in heavy metal direction, Anderson and Sango were eventually joined by Michael Clark on vocals and Aaron Beale on drums and they have since been carving their way through the deadened alternative metal scene of Melbourne like a hot knife through butter.
