For over two decades, Stevie J Mayer honed his craft as a hardworking pub muso who played up to 10 gigs a week. Best known as a blues piano player, he is also a multi-instrumentalist who writes, arranges, records, produces & performs almost all of what you are about to hear. And what you will hear is an amazing depth of songwriting ability that spans many genres. Although this makes it somewhat more difficult to categorise this artist, it means a ready source of completely fresh and unpredictable new music. He has supported major acts such as; Jimmy Barnes, Kate Ceberano, Jon Stevens & James Morrison, played locally with bands such as; The Juke Joint Johnny's, Toxic Groove, Double Edge and Stevie J & The Fat Yaks and toured nationally as the piano player in the Meatloaf band. As a soloist he played residencies in ski resorts and piano bars and went on to become a session muso, recording tracks in prestigious EMI Studios 301 and Trafalgar Studios in Sydney. Through all of this, he managed to write over 200 songs of his own and is currently engaged in what might well be a world first; releasing one new song every week until all his 200 songs are released.
