Stix & Stringz are a stylish budding indie folk pop 3-piece band who fascinates crowds anywhere they perform shown by their ever-growing fan base. Their fresh coastal feel is translated through the meaningful melodies and lyrics they write, record, and release. The band’s unique instrumentation sets them apart from the crowd featuring the soothing sounds of ukelele and the intriguing rhythms from a cajon (a wooden box drum with snare wires). Also, they have honed their craft through regularly busking on the streets of the Gold Coast, Byron Bay, Sydney, and at markets and events in the Fraser Coast. Stix & Stringz officially formed at the start of 2023 where they were previously playing together in small community open mic nights and decided they wanted to officially merge into a dynamic trio and share their music with a broader audience. The group has taken strong influences off modern folk music like Noah Kahan and Vance Joy while adding their own fresh pop sound to make catchy coastal songs that guarantee the crowds will tap along. They have busked alongside many recognisable folk pop artists on the streets of Byron Bay such as The McCredie Brothers, Rod Coote, Gaudion, and Austin Mackay. Growing social media engagement has seen the band featured on Triple M Fraser Coast with their debut single ‘I Miss You Already’, performing with the Fraser Coast Tourism and Events for the Hervey Bay Whale Festival Twilight Swing, entry into the Fraser Coast Battle of the Bands 2024 and Hervey Bay Unplugged 2024, performing at the 2023 Bauple Nut Bash, and playing an opening set at the Tiaro Carols in the Country. The pop trio are eager to share new music and play more shows for the remainder of the year.
