STONY RISES’ music has a raw emotive energy. It’s Australian roots music with a blend of blues, folk and rock with a touch of surfy twang, emerging from the heart of South-West Victoria. The band features the use of lap steel, electric and classical guitars with unusual tunings, a solid rhythm section with groove and atmospheric synthesizer effects. The songs are deeply rooted in songwriter Owen Ellemor's homeland; expressing observations, insights and longings with a social conscience.
