Think 1993. What was happening in the music world at this time ? The remains of funk-metal were smouldering, grunge was king, and strider started, albeit under a different name. Old music friends, Dave and Duggo, along with John Asimus and Mathew Berry got together to play some bad covers. Realising that this wasn't working, they took the road travelled by the Ramones, and decided to just write their own songs. It all progressed quickly from there. Songs were written and recorded their first four track. By the end of an intensive writing period they had formed their own sound, based on a few rules: 1. Play anything that sounds good. 2. No love songs. So it was that a grungey, funky, punky sound was formed, and played to audiences in western Sydney, in such illustrious establishments such as the Kurrajong Heights Hotel, the Wenty Hotel, The Jolly Frog, and the Forest Inn.
