Consisting of members from Abacinate, (ex)Death of a martyr, The darkest winter and Dementia, Styre was founded in mid to late 2008 by Warwick Bruce and Liam Coombes. The only aim was, and still is death metal music and an un-compromised writing style. After writing several songs, Styre decided to find a lead guitarist and a bassist to complete the band and play live shows. Having played in a former Abacinate lineup Andrew Seriser was asked if he would be interested in joining the band as lead guitarist. Styre recorded a five track demo (MEDICATION) in late 2008 and was given out for free in Feb 2009. Andrew parted shortly after due to difficulties arranging rehearsal. After a few weeks of pondering over a bassist and a new lead guitarist, Michael ‘smick’ Smith learned a few songs and joined the band. Styre in mid 2009 landed on a 4 member lineup now including Ben Cannings as lead guitarist. 2010 has seen Ben and Smick depart from the band and local shreder Vaughn Frankcombe join
