Hi, my name’s Dan. I like to write songs and play rock music. It’s been fun for as long as I remember. As I look back with the mandate to write a “bio”, I’m quite struck by how much this pursuit has shaped my life, shaped my relationships and shaped my enthusiasms. I can’t think of much more I’d rather be doing. When I was about 7, one of my buddies, Mike, decided he wanted to learn guitar. My Dad offered to teach him. I was somehow pulled into the scheme, and so every Saturday Mike would come round and belt out C, G and D with my Dad and me. I couldn’t hide the fact that I hadn’t been practicing, Dad would check my fingers for calluses from the strings each Saturday. The lessons eventually wrapped up (probably largely due to my lack of attention/practice), but just before they did, Mike got a shiny new Epiphone acoustic. I still remember how intrigued I was by the difference in sound the new guitar had compared to the old one… I decided to learn more. And that was the beginning of
