Summer Blanket is the moniker of solo-artist Nicholas Bunting, currently based out of Melbourne, Australia. From the depths of more ambient/experimental inclinations of his career comes his most considered approach to date. ‘Crux’ EP is his debut offering, and sees Bunting’s cutting lyricism and incisive delivery laid over a shifting bed of careening synths and restless beats. It speaks of the eerie isolation and societal distance borne of the contrasting geographies of his upbringing: the buzzing tropics and clear air of mountain towns. His brand of unsettling synth-pop is filtered through and skewed against these atmospheres, creating a unique space to inhabit. ‘Crux’ EP is due to be released April 2016.
