Tahlia Matheson was only eight years old when she began singing. Music was always around her as she grew up watching her Dad play in bands around her home in the Byron Shire. Tahlia was always songwriting, so when she was 14 and had to write an original piece for a school assessment it came easily. She sat down at the piano and started writing. This confirmed her love for songwriting and she hasn't stopped since. The piano has been swapped out for the guitar and with a lot of international travel and life experiences she has plenty to write about. In 2012, at just 16, Tahlia attended the world-renowned Tamworth Country Music Festival where she developed her passion for country music. In that same year she would also go on to be selected to perform on the busking stage at the Byron Bay Blues Festival.
