Perth’s Indie-rock angel, Tanaya Harper, effortlessly weaves introspective lyrics with silken melodies. Drawing from her lived experience with Bipolar disorder and her diverse musical influences of folk, indie and alternative rock, Harper’s music resonates with audiences for its honesty and vulnerability. Harper has received multiple WAMi nominations (West Australian Music Industry Awards) for Best Vocalist, Best Folk Act, Best Alternative Act, Best EP and Best Bassist, which have affirmed Harper as a mainstay in the Western Australian music community. Accompanied by a haunting string quartet and french horn, Harper’s recent singles ‘Night Terrors’ and 'Cleo' have officially set the tone for the release of her debut album ‘They Have Become Me’. Due for late-2024 release, the album explores the sonic possibilities of alt-folk-pop, whilst remaining integral to Tanaya’s innate style and lyrical content of emotional growth and deepened self-awareness through interpersonal struggles.
