Tangents was born out of a mutual love for the heavy and alternative rock sounds emanating from Perth’s music scene in the early to mid 2000s, when three of its members were just peachy-faced teens from Perth’s northern suburbs. After spending the better part of the past decade exploring a diverse range of genres, they opted to return to their roots and pay homage to the sound that first brought them together. The then trio spent 12 months shaping their craft before scouring cyberspace for a new addition to help take their music to new heights. Fortunately, a like-minded drummer answered the call. Tangents are a versatile act within the Perth music scene, unafraid to experiment with different elements of progressive rock, alternative and metal. With Tangents set to release new music in 2022, the year ahead promises to be an exciting one for this dynamic new band.
