A period of personal growth, reconnection with his indigenous Maori/Polynesian culture and an instinctual shift to a more organic form of songwriting being key factors in the formation of this project. TANIWHA ( 'tanifa' a supernatural dragon in the indigenous NZ Maori language) is the culmination of that thought train with a sound combining keyboards, vintage analog synths, guitars, 80's drums and melodic vocals

Having recorded and toured in rock bands over the last decade to critical global acclaim, Aotearoa NZ born, Australia based Singer/Songwriter and Producer Roxxi Catalano has decided to branch out into the synth/electronic genre. TANIWHA [tanifa'] is the new solo project, a name in his native Maori language for a supernatural dragon. This shift comes catalysed by a ongoing reconnection with his First Nations heritage, a desire to grow creatively as an artist and a wish to reach a broader audience base while representing his culture
