The music of Tawa Drive combines nostalgic acoustic warmth with hazy dream-pop ambience. Formed in 2024 and based in Meanjin, Australia, the outfit features the twin vocals of Evan Scrimgeour and Samara Nilsen, joined with the drumming of Will FitzGerald and guitar work of Damian Broodryk. Inspired by indie favourites The Postal Service, Alvvays, and M83, the band seeks to create whole worlds within songs, with atmospheric depth building into soaring crescendos, and communicate personal stories of mental health and growing older.
