Tawny was born in the little city of Brisbane. She has collected stories and experiences from her travels into remote desert, bushland, the ocean and volunteering in developing countries. Many of these experiences have influenced her music. She is inspired by real life experiences, the meaningful events in people’s lives, her close family relationships, human rights issues and the fragility of the environment. She strives to validate people’s emotions, bring hope and create awareness to things less spoken about through her music.
