"Blazing gig last night. You dames are gonna catch on. You have precision downstrokes, sweeping arpeggios and...poise!" - Dave Graney “…a fresh fistful of winsome pop rock; a little bit Liz Phair (pre-Matrix), but altogether a spritely bundle of energy with Julie Paschke’s strong grasp of irresistible pop hooks clearly evident underneath the Pony-at-2am guitars.” TEKO are a bright new pop-rock three-piece from Melbourne, Australia, and have just independently released their debut self-titled EP, with its first single, Blue Eyes. Members Julie, Janet and Nicola formed the idea of TEKO whilst on a tour of Europe in former band, Dollsquad, in 2006. Loving the sounds of bands like Weezer, The Pretenders, Television and The Primitives, TEKO combine deceptively sweet lead vocals, dirty guitar and melodic bass-lines. Underpinned by a tight rhythm section, they condense all these elements into seamless, catchy, pop-driven songs.
