Bio history
Terra Pines (Formerly Tall Pines) are a Grungegaze/Sludgepop band hailing from Brisbane. The band consists of Kelly Hanlon (Guitar/Vocals), Owen Dengate (Guitar/Vocals) and Cameron Smith (Drums/Vocals). Bought together in late 2015 by a mutual love of all things noisy the band have been creating music that defies categorization ever since. Drawing from an array of influences Terra Pines walk a fine line between many genres without feeling derivative. In 2016, the band released their first single ‘The Day Is Gone’, a wall of sound shoegaze number that highlights the bands love of dynamics and the quiet/loud formula to which was well received. In 2017 the band followed up with an EP ‘Munchausen’, which exhibits the bands penchant for creating atmosphere within the confines of a pop song. 2018 will see the release of the band’s debut LP and there is no doubt that Brisbane’s mood merchants will bring the feeling!
