The 3 Murals of Chico Valdez are a collective of artists from different, yet complementary genres, whose varying inspiration, rather than creating a tug of war of concocted cacophony, fuses together to create a distinctive sound that transcends the various genres they dabble within and without. Their sound is influenced by diverse artists such as Mark Lanegan, The Brian Jonestown Massacre, Nick Cave and even soul artists like Bill Withers and Curtis Mayfield, with a fair bit of the Blues and melancholia thrown in for good measure. They explore soundscapes within and without the pop realm and aren’t afraid to reach beyond their respective genre for influence and good vibes.
