The Ahwls /ðə äulz/ Noun A nocturnal band of prey with large forward-facing eyes and a hooked beak, capable of expressing a range of emotions including surprise, pleasure, sympathy, and realisation, typically with a loud call. The Ahwls are a Melbourne based four piece Indie Pop/Rock band with a heavy influence of Jazz and Funk. With Ben Zagroon on guitar and vocals, Chris Bates on keys, Oly Miller on double bass and Matt Ball on drums they sound like the mutant child of The Cat Empire, The Pixies, Avishai Cohen and James Brown. Full of infectious, weird, wonderful energy, their live shows are not to be missed!
