The Apple Thieves steal elements of blues and funk to create songs as sweet as their fruity namesake. But not quite as cheesy as that previous sentence. They believe in the resurrection of songs that contain the elements of a great vocal melody, awesome drum beat and the long forgotten guitar solo! All members currently hail from Melbourne, but have come from the country towns of Mildura and Shepparton. In making the move they hope to pursue their music further, while maintaining full study loads at university, where some of the members are studying Medicine and Engineering. Lead singer Lloyd also plays piano and guitar, and hasn't received formal training for voice. Bass and keys player Rowan was originally trained heavily in classical music, but finds the switch to more modern style of playing to be a welcome change. Their guitarist, Sotirios is heavily influenced by blues and rock, and looks to incorporate this into their songs.
