The April Tree is Glenn Howard, a velvet-voiced multi instrumentalist and songwriter. He's been described as an AFL footballer with concert pianist hands. The songs demonstrate Brian Wilson's "Pet Sounds" ethos - "... everybody has these sounds that they love, and (Pet Sounds) was a collection of (Brian's) pet sounds.'" A love of a wide range of acoustic and electronic sounds is apparent in The April Tree's epic pop, with a powerful, mesmerising vocal, sometimes stunningly harmonised, sometimes starkly solo, taking centre stage.
