The Attachments began in 2004, formed at the instigation of their drummer Glen, formerly with Kim Beales. A solid background in drum and bass, Steely Dan and shoegazing pop inspired his fertile mind to hatch a plan. He called Alf. As well as contributing to albums by Even and Curse Ov Dialect, Alf happened to have been writing the kind of songs that Glen wanted to hear. When they found Ben, who had the enthusiasm of youth and the talent of a bass supremo, they got happy. So happy that Alf's brother Matt, from The Fold, decided to join in. Matt provided the vital ingredient of lead guitar/piano/mad geniusness as well as the potential for fraternal harmony. Ben stuck around until his talent exploded in other directions and the band called upon Stu (formerly of pop meisters Brentford and Mrs Pinkwhistle) to join in on bass. Stu had previously produced the band’s recordings and brought this methodical approach to the band’s existing pop sensibility. And off they went! The Attachments
