The Augustines came together mid year through 2011 after band members Shea Halge and Michael Georgieff met up with Ben Wilson. After a few months of gigging around Perth The Augustines have started to make a name for themselves by combining genres of folk, indie, country and roots. They have been building up a decent repertoire of original material taking the leads of legends such as the Beatles and Bob Dylan as well as contempories such as Mumford and Sons, Bon Iver and the Fleet Foxes. The Augustines 2011 year has seen them be hand picked by Ash Grunwald to move through to the Semi-Finals round in the Guinness Live Thursdays comp, receive airplay on several local radio stations around Australia, get nominated under the Blues and Roots category for a WAMI award & get nominated for a Music Oz award under the alternative category.
