Describing their sound as Surf Thrash Rock, it was the year 1987 that THE BEARDED CLAMS played thier first Pub gig. From the release of thier self titled 1993 CD to the year 1997 the lineup stood strong and remained the same.1998 saw a change of guitarist and the band marched on to a more metal influenced sound whist retaining there surf thrash roots. Releasing their "Sonice Wave" Cd in 2002, the band travelled the eastern states and Melbourne. THE BEARDED CLAMS played with just about every alternative Aussie band of note during the 90's and early 00's ( Grinspoon, Spiderbait, Regurgitator, The Living End, Powder Finger, Silverchair to name a few) and were the go to band in Adelaide for promoters. THE CLAMS took a 6 year hiatus while lead singer D Keyser sailed yachts in and around the Pacific Islands.
