LJ Bullock is a quadriplegic. He can’t play guitar. And in his own words he can’t sing for shit either. But he can write. And write sadness he does. It emanates from within that trapped body. ‘I live in a full body straight jacket, writing is my escape’. Unable to be the singer/songwriter he desires, 31 year old Bullock enlisted the talent and experience of Peter Hasenkam, who has become a friend and collaborator since they met in 2005. THE BLUEPRINT FILE is the file of song lyrics that Bullock gave Hasenkam when they met. These songs are demos recorded on Peter’s computer. LJ wants to breathe studio air in 2007 and record their debut. It Still Beats is about the painful search for love, a search made even harder when you have a severe physical disability. Elliott Smith is his musical idol and LJ credits him as one of his saviours. The song Saddest Man In The Land is LJ's tribute to his idol.
