The story of The Broadside begins in 2005. Performing under the name ‘Cryosis’ Arnie and Simon came together to play a one off youth festival in the Adelaide Hills. Two and half years later The Broadside was born. The Broadside create a brutal hardcore sound as unique as it is aggressive. Brothers Duffy (drums) and Simon (guitar) generate a powerful dynamic in which Duffy’s hostile, uncompromising style meets Simon’s crushing riffs to produce the viciously tight sound that sets The Broadside apart. Guy’s precise approach to the bass adds a solid backbone to the band, while new guitarist Chris’s fiercely skilful playing enhances the raw power and sonic complexity that drives the sound of the band. The most distinguishing component of The Broadside is the fierce and commanding vocal delivery of Arnie Barnard. His distinctive vocal style marks out The Broadside as one of the tightest, most brutal bands on the Adelaide hardcore scene. After consistently playing crazy shows throughout
