Changeling is an indie-pop singer songwriter from Melbourne, Australia. Her music is defined by the genre-bending diversity of her songwriting and the distinctive vocal textures she creates with her “wall of sound” vocal arrangements. Influenced by artists as varied as Prince, Feist, Aimee Mann, Aretha and Kate Bush, Changeling views the art of making and listening to music as the bright thread in the darkness that leads you home. Her new EP “Fairytales for Grown-Ups,” was produced by Changeling and Matthew Neighbour (Matt Corby, The Avalanches, Jen Cloher) and recorded in Melbourne in the final months of Sing Sing studios. It was mixed by Australian producer/engineer and 5 time Aria Award winner Paul McKercher (Josh Pyke, Sarah Blasko, Pete Murray and Eskimo Joe). The musicians on the Ep include Ben Edgar on guitar (Gotye, Angus & Julia Stone, Washington) along with Danny Farrugia on drums and percussion (Tin Pan Orange, The Bamboos & Missy Higgins) and Bruce Haymes on

Once upon a time I was asked if I could write a song for a film that a Sudanese girl was making at my school. The movie was to be addressing Racism and they said that they would really love a proper recording of a song written to compliment the message of the film. I had one night to write it as the following day happened to be the last day of recording. Often, trying to force a song to be written can be like trying to have a baby before you get pregnant. However, I would like to share the song that was written that night and recorded with a group of friends the following day! As we are no longer a group and I no longer write songs in this style, I am going to remain anonymous but I very much hope anyone who will enjoy this song, can have a chance to listen to it.
