Formed in 2005, The Charisma Effect has grown rapidly to become one of Northern Melbourne’s most popular youth bands. Specializing in a unique genre created with elements of funk, jazz, blues and hip-hop the band is instantly recognized by their groovy tunes and classy appearance. What began as a quiet jazz trio soon evolved into a loud funk outfit comprising two guitars, two vocalists, bass and drum-kit. With lyrical content based on Christian themes, The Charisma Effect uses the influences of George Benson, Maroon 5 and Stevie Wonder to produce songs which convey deep meaning and emotion yet contain funky riffs which allow listeners to dance. Since recording their first single Transparent Emotion at Jets Studios in Bundoora, The Charisma Effect has gone on to open local youth events; Diamond Valley Baptist Church’s “The Carpark” and FreeZa’s “Rock the Hill”. Using their first recording as an entry into the Rock for Radio 2007 competition run by Plenty Valley F.M and Leader
