Formed in 2003 by brother’s Julian and Greg Townley the Chronics have carved out a faithful following on Sydney’s pub circuit with a sound that firmly reflects their roots on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Citing influences as diverse as The Kinks, UK Squeeze, Franz Ferdinand and closer to home Hoodoo Gurus and Jebediah the Townley siblings are joined in the Chronics by fellow Northern Beaches locals drummer Grant Colquhoun and bassist Pedro De Carvalho. Together the four-piece have melded some of the spirit of their influences with their own unique vigour and humour to create memorable music that never fails to get their audiences on the dance floor. The chugging bass and drum lines of the rhythm section underscore strong guitar melodies and the insightful lyrics of front-man Greg Townley who uses everyday experiences as the inspiration for his musings on relationships and life in general.
