The Clever Trees are a four piece band that combine smooth melodies, distorted bluesy rock, heavy funk drums and slippery-slidey bass. TCT are continuously experimenting with new ideas and sounds, combining acoustic and electric noise; this eclectic mix of tunes makes it hard to place the band in any one genre, making them a unique listening experience. Forming in 2009, TCT emerged from the jungle of Adelaide college life. Originally a five piece, they began by playing open mic nights at college and placed equal first in the Flinders Uni Battle of the Bands. Over the last two years they have played gigs at a number of venues across Adelaide, including The Cavern, The Ed Castle, The Crown and Anchor and The Oriental. The boys have even scored a sweet little country gig in Little Hampton. The band's song writing style is not the usual 'verse, chorus' routine, but rather a flow of heavy hearted lyrics, alternate chord progressions and imaginative grooving. The Clever Trees' influences
