The hip hop duo, The Connect, came about in 2007 when two high school friends re-connected over a mutual love of music despite living in different hemispheres. C-Gro, a Sydney-based emcee, began to send lyrical ideas to Pete Nice, an Australian producer doing his thing in NYC. Pete began to craft electronic inspired beats to C-Gro’s playful rhymes, whilst adding his own lyrical flavour. Genre crunching and difficult to categorise, The Connect has created an international brand of electro and soul infused hip-hop that overcomes the limitations of geographical location and its associations. A bi-product of two separate worlds, The Connect’s music is about connecting ideas where your kicks can’t take you.
