The Coolites is the new project of songwriter Simon Gibson. Gibson, formerly member of a number of Sydney bands including Sneeze, Modern Giant, the Aerial Maps and Lazy Susan, wrote the album whilst working for seven years as a teacher at an international school in Vietnam. This unique situation led to the multi-instrumentalist casting his mind back to Australia and giving him a clear perspective on the life and land that remained vital to him.
