The Crystal Set started in the 1983 playing with bands like The Go-betweens and the Triffids. Had a string of Indie number 1s and got lots of airplay on the JJJs and the like. Benefit of the Doubt was voted Single of the year 1986 by RAM magazine We toured with OS bands like The Damned, Jesus Jones, The Wonderstuff and even The Sugarcubes and played 100s of headlining shows under our own steam too. Broke up in 1992 after our 2nd album Almost Pure. We reformed last year 2025 to play 6 sold out shows , enjoyed the experience. Have recorded a new album and released 3 Songs off it. Critical Mass!, Pretty Schemes and This Aint how it Ends. Oct 2026 are touring the East Coast again with Alannah Russack and Postcards from Pluto. "Don't Peak Early" is out soon.
