The Cut Outs were formed when two fearless femme fatales came together and conspired to make a ‘girl-shaped’ hole in the flacid realm of Cock Rock. British born Stevie left her Newcastle home to be raised by wolves at the prestigious Royal Ballet School in London. At 21, with a broken ankle and her axe in hand, Stevie made the decision to swap Swan Lake for mosh pits – for good. Simultaneously on the other side of the globe, Aussie and proud Melbournian Jess, hatched plans to head to London. Swapping her beloved acoustic for a Daddy Guitar, she set upon finding fresh flesh to make sweet music with. Flash forward 6 months and both Stevie and Jess found themselves face to face in a sweaty West London studio at a musician call for the lovely Miss Kylie Minogue. It didn’t take them long to find common ground as Stevie pulled out a cheeky hip flask. This, unknowingly at the time, was the beginning of an unshakeable musical partnership. Surprise surprise, for fear of ‘upstaging’ the pint
