The Dirty Shames are a studio band who hang out mostly at Stu Bishops Flatspin Records recording studios when not hanging out on various patios jamming and having fun telling yarns. Core of the band are Steve Richards and Jon Cooper. Steve has penned over 50 songs, many with an underlying rocky, bluesy, rootsy feel. Although including some basic love, bad luck and other not-too-serious songs, a lot of the music comments on social and political stuff with strands of underlying satire to not get too serious. Jon brings his longstanding huge talent, rhythm, gravel tones and experience to the sound. We're story-tellers put to sound, trying to record the world, with a smile on our faces, hoping to make feet tap, people think, and mostly to have a good time.
