Critics have touted The Disco That Exploded as ‘a band’ and ‘a poorly thought out collection of incompatible genres’. Formed during a chance encounter between inebriated strangers in a decrepit men’s room of a Melbourne pub, you wouldn’t give the future of this three-piece band much of a hope. Surviving, to even their own surprise, a lengthy and often ‘hazy’ hiatus and a photo shoot involving strapping homemade fireworks to guitars and drums they’ve managed to sober up for just long enough to mash up a uniquely wicked concoction of high energy electro rock with sleazy and aggressive funk, topping it off with an equally intense on-stage presence to match. MIKKEY DEESKO who is armed with his signature ‘Sex Panther’ 4-string, abuses the guitar like no one else, showing it the same level of respect enjoyed by the common street walker or the unwelcomed alcoholic uncle at family reunions. TOMMY 2-Bit will have you walking away feeling cheated with his raw and unique view on the concept
