The duo, who formed in April this year, has proved their worth through a number of independent releases and performances at Melbourne’s Night Owl and the opening of Chapel Street’s newest boutique, Fanny'z. Joshua, originally from New Zealand, left behind a career as a successful DJ and event promoter and has found a solid place here in Melbourne as a producer with a well-equipped studio. His skills in all areas of music production and promotion are an undeniable asset in assuring the quality of each track produced by The Dub Racket. Monique once managed a record store in Fitzroy and, ever the supporter of emerging musical talent, she founded the collective SHMA. She has a diverse performance background: lead roles in large-scale stage musicals and two and a half years as lead vocalist for the Melbourne-based collaboration, Finding The Green. Her unique voice brings a perfect blend of rawness and sheer soul to The Dub Racket sound.
