Spellbound by their communal love for 60s sounding guitar pop, gently layered with a tinge of the psychedelia that came with the era. The east district have been doing the rounds- on and off- in the local Adelaidean pub scene for the past two and a bit years. Built on the foundations of a fleshy rhythm section that consist of pounding Unkle- esque drum beats and bass parts that bring a melody of their own, the tunes are subtle throwbacks to the past which place a priority on both feel and melody. Twanging guitar chords are often intertwined with beautifully composed lead parts that sway and slide and slip you into a nice little dream. Lyrical content is diverse and speaks of everything from love and loss, hope and despair and tea cups parties. The band are currently recording their first release which will be due out later in the year.
