With over 1 million Spotify streams, Melbourne alt pop/rock band The Engagement are making waves with their emotionally charged songwriting and cinematic sound. Fronted by songwriter and vocalist David Di Cristoforo, the band fuse soaring hooks, powerful lyricism and bold production to create songs that are both stadium-sized and deeply personal. Their sound, a theatrical blend reminiscent of My Chemical Romance and Lady Gaga, infused with the punk energy of Fall Out Boy has earned critical praise. MTV described Heaven So Close as “an uplifting anthem,” Triple J hailed their “hooks and glitz,” and SYN FM declared Closure “We love this track!” From major events like 'St Kilda Festival' and 'Luna Dark' to sold-out shows at The Gasometer, Cherry Bar and Bergy Bandroom, The Engagement deliver songs of resilience, vulnerability and empowerment with music that connects on both an emotional and anthemic level. New EP Shattered Illusion out now!
