This transcontinental duo's musical pilgrimage brought their internet friendship to life in the early summer of 2019. The two met each other in a Facebook group King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard Fan Page and over the course of two years bonded over their mutual love for 60s music, until finally, the Australian half of the duo, Christian Nicolescu, embarked on a long voyage to rural Croatia. The Croatian half, Ichabod, a chansonnier with a critically acclaimed debut album Volume 1: Psychedelic Chansons, provided him with all the supplies needed; a spacious condo, a comfy bed, endless amounts of beer and lastly and most importantly, musical partnership. Throughout the summer, they realized that the surrounding scenery evokes a strong pastoral, so they adopted a cowboy identity, but there were no horses to ride, no cattle to tend and no yield to harvest. Their only responsibility was to write psychedelic tunes and consequently they simply define their music as cowboy psychedelia.
