'I had a dream' says Ed, 'a dream to make beautiful music and sleep with beautiful girls'. No he didnt really I'm just making it up as I go along... The Fifth Quarter saga started in 2001 when four boys by the names of Ed, Adam, Jason and Maca had only one thing in common, their love of good music. But this love wasn't unique. It was quiet obvious after their first live show that the whole of Moonee Valley liked what they heard and the boys got very popular very quickly. Their music was heavy and loud and on stage they were anything but shy, their sound was recognized by all and when they were sporting matching fireman's pants so was their look. The boys played with the likes of 'The Butterfly Effect', 'Sunk Loto', 'Full Scale' and 'Body Jar'. As the boys progressed so did their sound.
