New Album: 'The Hopeful Chorus Line'. Released May 2010 Recent fun activities include playing 'In this place' on a filming of 'My Restaurant Rules'. Nothing more natural than playing to a dinner party full of guests you've never met. That's show biz. What has become The Finishing School today began as a humble acoustic trio in 2001, under the guise of EmcTrio. This soon grew to include a cello and drum kit. Armed with this array of strings and percussion the EmCQuintet began to flirt with audiences all over Adelaide. As the seasons passed things changed, as they do. An electric bass was found, and then later a cello was lost, and various musicians found their way in or out of the band. The result of this was three guys and a girl, who would best be described as The Finishing School. Emily and Thom Combe are on lead vocals, violin and guitar and Lyndon Gray (formerly of The Audreys) is on board with bass. Sydney drummer Andrew Gaborit completes the sound with kit and percussion.
