The Great Disruption know how to deliver bitter-sweet alternative rock. Echoing guitar shimmers over deep bass grooves and thumping drums. There is an uplifting rock/pop sensibility in the music that combines with something heavier lurking beneath the surface in the dark corners and alleyways as if the love child of Bono and Nick Cave were fronting a stripped backed version of Hunters & Collectors. Live the band produces a big sound and there’s an element of 60’s simplicity to the stripped back sound of the three piece but with a definite anthemic post punk revivalist bent. The Great Disruption deliver a live performance that is intimate melodrama that can rock with intensity and sounds big enough to fill small and large spaces equally.
