Swaggering into the room with its best Keith Richards impression and a bottle of bad ideas in hand, The Great Emu War greets you like an old friend and peer pressures you into blowing off work with vague promises of shenanigans. This Melbourne three-piece is a paper-mache of influences and musical backgrounds: from Pixies to The Wu-Tang Clan; Otis Redding to Dead Kennedys to the Beegees; the Whitest of Stripes and Blackest of Keys and those insects in that big yellow submarine. Grab yourself a drink, we've got a lot of catching up to do.
